Besides the wedding banquet confirmation, almost nothing else have been done since !!
Initially I thought I could save efforts going through bridal shop one by one and could just settle it through friends remmendations. Guess end of the day, different bridal shop concepts works differently for every individual couple.
Below are the bridal shops that I have visited.
(1) My Bridal Room
Went the first time with Tallin , met the lady boss who gave me a good impression as she could easily identify the cut that matches me and I liked the first gown that she pick out for me to try.
It was quite a WOW thing for me as this was the first time I ever stepped into a bridal shop and the bride is gotta be ME !!
We also spent quite a fair bit of time gossiping about other bridal studios ... plus some scandalous news!!
In fact I was quite set on this bridal studio as I am too lazy to go around and I believe through recommendation, I would not get a very bad deal.
Went the second time with darling and met the boss , Quek. Probably because I did not make any appointment beforehand,
The boss refused to let me try on any of the gown. Though he gave a resonable explanation that it was a busy day and their staffs have to give prority to the existing customers, and he will not allow us to try on too many gown because they have to protect their existing customers as well, etc .....but we are still not very pleased about it.
The boss was straightforward with the package ,offered 35 poses immediately. Their abum is bigger than most of the bridal studios ( 15 by 18 ). Guess it is quite normal for them to ask about which other bridal boutique have we went to.
Discussed a bit on those I have went. Interestingly he mentioned that DiGio was quite good !! But their pricing was too out for me larh ...
(2) Santiago
This was the very first shop I went with my darling ( before my second visit to my bridal room ) , nothing impressive , all I could remember is that they have a cute stylish mini album and the lady boss called up several times after our visit to chase us to sign up with them and finally ask me angrily if I still want the package a not. I replied her saying that we are still considering , she hung up and never called back again ....
(3) DiGio
Went there with Leona before my second visit with darling to My Bridal Room. I was attracted to their photos outside their shop. I feel that they were well taken. So I went in and ask the person serving me what kind of clothes suits me, that guy could not really seems to answer me ( I always like to ask this question to see how they recomend their gowns and see if they could pick up gown that really look fabulous on me !)
Finally , the package they show me is way out of my budget .. Think is $4000 ++
(4) Yvonne Creative
Went in and saw a blink dress which I liked it very much. They allowed me to try it on. The sales personnel that was serving me seems to be a total sotong.. For each question I ask her, she have to check with others and get back to me, or she pretended that she did not hear it. Needless to say , she could not answer my favourite question.
They are selling their package at around $3388 with 30 poses. Dun like the fact that they only do digital only when you have more than 45 poses. Leona mentioned that her sister in law also signed up with them and they offered to give me the same package, with 1 MTM throw in.
Then I saw someone selling their package online and saw that they actually threw in ROM dresses and AD photograpy services for the same price !!! The person selling online could actually slash the price further lorh !!
Darling and I went down to the shop the second time, they threw in up to 34 pose. I asked them what if i need another outfit and actual day photograhy and she told me that I have to pay about $800 for each of those ....Grrrrr ..... Think I idiot issit ?
End of the day , darling don't like any of the dresses inside and I think it might not be a good idea to buy a cheaper package from someone else and go back to them.
Finally last week , darling managed to get off early for work last Thursday and we decided to shop around for a few more bridal boutique.
We walked past (5) Rico-a-Mona, I took a look at their photos outside the shop and I liked it. So we went into the shop.
I like their chair *duh* and layout of the shop
The first thing I always ask when going into the bridal studio is about their gowns. The lady who was serving us was pretty smart enough to let me try on unlimited gowns, also took out the latest magazine for me to point out any gown Iike and she'll pick out the gown that is has the closest design for me to try out.
While trying to look for one gown which we specifically pointed out, she went ahead and pick out at least 3 - 4 more gown for me to try on. Of which most of it my darling says it not bad.
Their package is selling at $3488 + $388 for hotpress with 28 poses. She offered to provide ROM dress and to give more poses when I decided to sign up with them.
She then asked if we were interested to have our photo shoot overseas and flahed out some of the photos on their Macs.
While scrolling through the pictures, suddenly I spotted a "DiGio" label with the photogaper name "Henry" on one of the photos. It was then the lady explained that they are actually sister company and are sharing everything except the gowns...
We asked about the difference in the package of these 2 shops and She offered to bring us over to take a look and could give us the same package if we signed up with her. We suggested to come another day to visit that shop and to try on the gown which I earlier pointed out but could not try on as it was sent out for cleaning.
(6) LaBelle
We went on to Labelle and I noticed that they have quite special gowns when I flipped through the bridal magasines.
They let me try out 2 of the gowns of which I like one of it very much. Their package is abou $3588 for 30 poses and they gave me straight $200 off. They also threw in wedding car which we need.
They'll be having road show later this week and invited us to go over to take a look. 2 days after we visited the botique , they called me almost daily! Aiyo !!
Actually was interested in gown from the "The Aisle" and "The wedding Present" , but the aisle location to too out of the way and the wedding present package seems a bit too out of budget...
Hope we will be finalising our bridal package soon !!
